On a bright sunny day in May while walking at Fisherman's Paradise, I spotted a mallard duck and her ducklings. It inspired me to paint a similar scene, focusing on the strong bond and sense of belonging that exists between these remarkable birds.

Millbrook Marsh is one of my favorite places in the Spring Creek Watershed. I also love to paint wetlands and have painted this one many times. It can be moody and mysterious, verdant and colorful, lush and diverse, enveloping and refreshing.
Location: Millbrook Marsh at the confluence of Thompson Run and Slab Cabin Run
